Advanced Configuration for App Launcher |
This patch adds the following advanced functionality in the app launcher:
- Edit mode for adding/deleting/renaming and moving launcher pages.
- Configuration option for showing/hiding page names with jump to page ability.
- Secondary moving option for moving apps from page to page (orange+tap to a app and select move).
- Configuration for setting default page (page that is opened as a default when launcher is started).
- Configuration option for resetting page position.
- Configuration option for wrapping the launcher pages.
- Configuration for setting quick launch to be visible or hidden all the time or only in the launcher.
This patch conflicts with the patches that provide some of these functionalities. |

Menu Fade Scrim |
Edit: Removed the Launcher-scrim.
If you want the launcher scrim it is available in my multi-scrim v2 patches as well as another dev on here.
If you want the previous version Email me and I will get you a copy of the original for install via WOSQI
If you just want to get rid of the fade, just install the patch, if you want a custom scrim just place it in the scrims folder used for my other patches.
This will also remove the top fade in the messaging app!
If you are not using one of my scrims patches (shame on you lol)then just create a folder on the usb drive of your Pre called scrims and put the .pngs in there.
The affected files are:
command-menu-gradient.png Fade at the bottom of most apps.
view-menu-gradient.png Fade at the top of the messaging app.
I have created a dropbox scrim repository so if you would like to be able to add to or use premade scrims then pm me or email me your email address i will send you an invite.
Hopefully this will cut down on misspelled files or incorrect extensions.

Named Pages in the Launcher |
This patch adds a name to each page in the launcher. Hold the Orange key or gesture area and tap the header to rename a page. Tapping on the name header brings up a submenu for navigating directly to any named page. You can also move an app to another page by using a selector in the app's info dialog, summoned via Orange-tap on an app in the launcher. This patch works better with the 'app-launcher-enable-add-delete-pages' and 'app-launcher-gesture-tap-for-info-and-delete' patches, and may conflict with the 'app-launcher-wrap-pages' patch. |

send your image to scrims folder.

remember that the text color in the apps are black, blue and gray.
try not to make the background picture black, blue or gray or this will hide your text.

It will also enable the display of the URL bar in landscape mode.

New Event Icons and Shortcuts |
Here's how it works:
1. The left button is for a new timed event, and the right button is for a new all day event, also showing in each view, i.e. day, week, and month.
2. The commands are also available in the menu of each view.
3. The commands are also available via shortcuts, gesture+n for a new timed event & gesture+d for an all day event.
4. A new event pushed from the week or month view will be created to whatever day you were in last, like a back gesture would take you back to the last day viewed. |

Scrim Contacts |
This patch adds the ability to add a back ground scrim image to the contacts app. When you install this patch it will first change the contacts app to almost the Palm-Dark scheme (dark gray back ground with white fonts) if you like it you can stop there. For the user that wants to add their own background, there are many 320x480 png images to choose from. Choose an image, name it contacts-scrim.png and save it in the wallpapers folder (/media/internal/wallpapers/) on your Pre. Suppress Javascript Error |
Fixes bug in _updateAccountsInfo() method in Email application that causes error when email app is loaded. This method and error seem to add no functionality to the email app so this 'bug fix' is really just to get rid of an error reported to stdout. No functionality should be changed. |

Enable Verizon aGPS Server for Improved GPS |

I do not recommend installing it on a non-Verizon device.
In typical Verizon shortsightedness, they have eliminated the ability of any applications other than Verizon Navigator to access aGPS. For most devices, this would be an annoyance, but the Pre is setup to be an aGPS device only out of the box (unless you do the QPST tweak that can be found on the PreCentral forums).
Thanks to Darthpooh, I believe I've tracked down the root cause of that, and created a work around for Verizon users. This patch--once installed--should allow Verizon users to acquire GPS coordinates in any app in the same time it'd take for Verizon Navigator to get it. And no jumping through hoops or workarounds required. Such as having to open Verizon Navigator to get Google Maps to work...or standing on your head while spinning counter clockwise on Monday (you don't want to see what you have to do on Tuesdays).
So far I've updated the major programs that are accessing GPS. I'm fairly confidant in the following:
Third party apps.
GPS based off the global search.
Notifcation based GPS lookups.
GPS Diagnostic Screen

Character Counter |
This will add a small dot in the top left corner of the text entry field in the Messaging application. It will keep track of how many characters have been entered. When nothing has been entered, the dot will not be visible. |

Disable Abandoned Forwards in New Messages |
Disables messages from appearing when a user goes to forward a sms message and then abandons it only for it to appear when the user composes a new message.
WebOS saves this message as a draft that automatically appears when composing a new message. Abandoned reply messages within existing conversations threads will still appear. |

Poor Mans Twitter Client |
If you receive messages from Twitter via SMS and frequently use the Messaging app to reply to and/or retweet them, you may be interested in this patch.
It adds 'Retweet', 'Reply', and 'Leave' items to the context menu that shows up when you click on a message. None of these commands send your message right away; this allows you to check and edit the message before sending it.
For this patch to work, your contact *must* be named 'Twitter' (case-insensitive). Should also work with shortcode 40404. |

Here's how it works!
1)Create a folder in usb mode called 'scrims' without the quotes
2)Place the chat balloons pics you want in the newly created scrims folder.
3) make sure they are named:

SMS Tone per Contact |
This patch adds a message tone field to all of your contacts. Once this field is set, it will play that tone when any SMS message comes in from that contact. If the contact doesn't have a message tone set, it will go to the global default message tone set in Sounds and Alerts. If there is not a global default set, it will simply play the alert. This patch also adds the ability to set the alert tone and notifications tone from the Sounds & Alerts application.

SMS Tone per Contact v2 |
This is a reworked version of the original SMS Tone Per Contact patch.
Summary of changes to the original patch:
- Since the unpatched messaging application now allows for selecting a global message tone, removed the redundant code that added this functionality.
- Contacts are now looked up by phone number and then email address, rather than just phone number, in case the sms was sent via email.
- Slight interface cleanup ('Pick a message tone' now in same font and style as 'Pick a ringtone')
- Removed selection of default notification and alert sounds. Following the Unix law, this patch does one thing well. |

There is no danger installing this patch! you cant BRICK (no such thing) your Pre by installing this patch! If there is a problem it simply will fail during install and revert to your previous configuration!
I have tested this on my own Pre and the emulator and appears to work flawlessly.
To remove this patch either remove it through Preware or run EPR, The scrims folder will remain no matter if you run EPR or run the DR. |

I do not use themes so I cannot and will not test this patch w/ a theme installed! if you use a theme use this at your own risk.
There is no danger installing this patch! you cant BRICK (no such thing) your Pre by installing this patch! If there is a problem it simply will fail during install and revert to your previous configuration!
I have tested this on my own Pre and the emulator and appears to work flawlessly.
To remove this patch either remove it through Preware or run EPR, The scrims folder will remain no matter if you run EPR or run the DR. |

The default ##GPS# does not give very much information if the response is too slow, inaccurate, or receives an error. This changes it to display the GPS coordinate results, even if the results are considered too inaccurate (a message is displayed warning you of this scenario). Additionally, all 8 potential error responses are properly caught instead of giving a generic error.

Here's a requested patch to have a separate ringtone for unknown/blocked callers. The normal default ringtone will still be used for those in your contact list that you haven't specified a ringtone for, but those not in your contact list will default to the one you set here. This is especially useful for those with very long contact list and don't want to spend hours specifying a ringtone for each.

TS Charge Alert Fix |
This is a workaround for the widely reported problem with some Touchstone docks where the device continuously pops up a 'Charging Battery' alert when the battery reaches 100%.
NOTE: This is a workaround, not a complete fix! The root of the problem is faulty Touchstone hardware. You should go to the shop for a replacement. In the meantime, you can apply this patch which will suppress the 'Charging Battery' alert when charging on the Touchstone and battery reaches 100%. The alert will still pop-up normally (i.e. if not charging using Touchstone, or battery not yet at 100%) |

This is a small modification that changes how new tasks are handled. Ordinarily, new tasks appear at the bottom of the task list. In this view you need to tap again to enter details like a due date. Well I finally got it figured out!
1) install my updated statusbar-scrim.patch (thanks mracer29)
2) create a folder on the usb portion of your pre called scrims (if you already have this folder skip this step)
3) put a copy of your wallpaper in the scrims folder and rename it to statusbar-scrim.png (full size 320x480)

System Menu Initial Framework |
Adds support for having two new system menus called status and today menus in addition to already existing application and device menus. Status menu is placed into left corner of top bar and the today menu in the center of top bar.
NOTE: this patch itself don't add those new menus it only layouts the groundwork to allow other patches to create these menus. |

System Menu Mode Menu |

System Menu Transparent Full Width App Menu |
Modifies app menu to be full width. This way it covers whole top bar preventing top bar menus pressed while app is in foreground. The background of the app menu is transparent so you can still see the top bar but can access the app menu by pressing anywhere on the top bar.

Command Line |
This will add commands to Universal Search.
- Type '.calc 2 + 5' to calculate something.
- Type '.dict affluent' or '.thes wealthy' to look up a word.
- Type '.memo I like pie.' to create a new memo.
- Type '.qmemo I like pie.' to create a new memo without launching Notes.
- There's much more! Type '.help' for a list of commands.
NOTE: To make certain commands such as '.memo' work, you must install separate packages such as the 'USCL Memos Patch' which patches the Memos application. If you get an error message such as 'The application %s is not configured for the Universal Search Command Line' or a command such as '.memo' is missing when you type '.help', that's your cue to do so.

Video Downloads |
When going to the video information screen, when you tap the 'More' button, there wil be an added option to download the video. The download progress will be displayed as notification popups. Once you leave that video info screen, the notifications will stop, though the video will continue downloading in the background. Videos get saved in mp4 format, playable in the video player and are saved to /media/internal/downloads/ with the name it was called on YouTube (truncated at 40 characters). |
